Revealing the first contender for Haten MC BATTLE 1.5: CALDELABISTA! Two winning 1.5 finalists, along with two winners from the tournament’s bonus selection bracket will earn the right to compete at Haten MC BATTLE 2.0!

Starting from today, we’ll be unveiling the MC contenders for Haten MC BATTLE 1.5, which will take place on February 11, 2023! Plus, the second venue ticket lottery for the event starts from noon today!

December 23, 2022 (JST) – IzanagiGames, Inc. (located in Koto-ku, Tokyo, and led by CEO/Producer Shinsuke Umeda) has begun announcing the contenders for Haten MC BATTLE 1.5. The tournament will be held at CLUB CAMELOT in Shibuya, Tokyo on February 11, 2023.

Of Haten MC BATTLE 1.5’s 32 contender field, two finalists will make it through. But that’s not all. Another two MCs will be chosen to advance based on view counts and video comments on the official Haten YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@hatenmicrophone). These four MCs will secure their spot at Haten MC BATTLE 2.0 and with it, a chance to go toe to toe with some of Japan’s heavy-hitting veteran rap talents. Haten MC BATTLE 2.0 will take place on April 13, 2023 at Toyosu Pit in Koto, Tokyo.

◆ What is Haten MC BATTLE?

IzanagiGames brings you a brand new MC battle tournament fusing fully-fledged rap prowess with intense visual spectacle. Haten MC BATTLE aims to shake up the formula by introducing the brand new “Battlefield” system! Watch the hottest MCs from Japan’s unique rap battle scene put their pride on the line as they compete for the top spot. 

We’re also bringing XR technology to the fore: utilizing projection mapping, and much more, to add an extra layer of presence and dynamism to the tournament. Background imagery will shift in time to the beat, changing with each battle.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve formulated a brand new battle system to help establish the next generation of star MCs. Haten MC BATTLE X.5 will host newcomers to the scene, while Haten MC BATTLE X.0 will feature veteran MCs. The two event types will be held on an alternating schedule, with newcomers who make it through the qualifying tournament earning the right to go toe to toe with the veterans, and a shot at rap stardom!
