Haten MC BATTLE 1.0: Tokage and Ryoff Karma to face off! Remaining match-ups to be announced one by one from today, November 7 (JST)!

Tickets currently on sale! Haten MC BATTLE 1.0 will be held at RED° TOKYO TOWER SKY STADIUM on December 7 (JST)! The event will also be available to view online via paid livestream.

IzanagiGames, Inc. (located in Koto-ku, Tokyo, and led by CEO/Producer Shinsuke Umeda) has announced that match-ups for Haten MC BATTLE 1.0 will be announced one by one on official Haten social media accounts from today, November 7 (JST).​​

・First Haten MC BATTLE 1.0 match-up announced!

◆ First match-up: Tokage vs Ryoff Karma!

・The leader of hip hop crew “LUCK END,” and head of traveling banana juice shop “TOKABANANA,” Tokage always gets the room jumping with his comical, one-of-a-kind bars.

・Ryoff Karma owns the Nagoya-based hip-hop label JET CITY PEOPLE, and has swept the floor at countless freestyle rap battles over the years. Nowadays you’re just as likely to find him starring in TV variety shows; all part of his transformation from versatile rapper to breakout sensation.

The two MCs are familiar with each other both on and off the stage. Back in 2020 Tokage marked the end of his 10 year absence from the rap battle scene with a showdown against Ryoff Karma, and Ryoff has previously spent a day in charge of the TOKABANANA shop. With their personal history, this is set to be a must-see match-up!

IzanagiGames brings you a brand new MC battle tournament fusing fully-fledged rap prowess with intense visual spectacle. Haten MC BATTLE aims to shake up the formula by introducing the brand new “Battlefield” system! Watch the hottest MCs from Japan’s unique rap battle scene put their pride on the line as they compete for the top spot. 

We’re also bringing XR technology to the fore; utilizing projection mapping, and much more, to add an extra layer of presence and dynamism to the tournament—background imagery will shift in time to the beat, changing with each battle.

And if that wasn’t enough, we’ve formulated a brand new battle system to help establish the next generation of star MCs. Haten MC BATTLE X.5 will host newcomers to the scene, while Haten MC BATTLE X.0 will feature veteran MCs. The two event types will be held on an alternating schedule, with newcomers who make it through the qualifying tournament earning the right to go toe to toe with the veterans, and a shot at rap stardom!
