The newly-minted department is currently working on an exciting new anime project!

IzanagiGames, Inc. (located in Koto-ku, Tokyo, Japan, and led by CEO/Producer Shinsuke Umeda) has announced the establishment of the “Takashi Taniguchi Section,” a new department named after its Section Chief, Takashi Taniguchi.

◆ What on earth is the Takashi Taniguchi Section?

“I want this to be the absolute tip-top department in the entire Japanese anime industry.” That’s what I read from the glint in CEO Mr. Umeda’s eyes when he first shared his idea for creating the new section at IzanagiGames, Inc. Incidentally, that’s when I came up with the Takashi Taniguchi Section motto, “Think tip. Think top. Think tip-top.”

To keep the department running at peak performance, we need to be thinking tip-top every waking moment. If you let that slip and have a less than tip-top thought, then suddenly, your position as the absolute best could be in jeopardy. Before you realize, you might even end up being the worst department ever. That sums up our thoughts on the matter.

“I want the Takashi Taniguchi Section to be a place where staff are considerate to one another, but also feel comfortable to speak candidly whenever the need arises. To hammer the message home, I’d like staff to constantly remind each other by repeating the ethos out loud. Seeing as the department is just me on my lonesome right now, I have to give myself the pep talk.”

◆ Message from Shinsuke Umeda, IzanagiGames’ CEO and Producer

“I’ve known Takashi Taniguchi personally for about seven years now, and I’ve been a real admirer of his talents ever since we first met. Previously, we worked on a game app together, and he’d occasionally come to ask my opinion and discuss whatever he was working on at the time, even though I wasn’t directly involved in that side of things. 

It’s an honor to now be given the chance to work together in the same company. Initially I found myself wondering, ‘What can I do to create an environment for Takashi Taniguchi to flourish in?’ My answer was to establish the Takashi Taniguchi Section, and embark on the new anime project we’re working on together. ◆ Takashi Taniguchi’s Profile

Animator and Illustrator. His self-produced cartoons, including Mr. Ando of the Woods, Mukidashi no Mitsuko, and Oshirimaeman, all of which were written, illustrated, edited, voiced, and sung by himself, have become something of a cult hit on YouTube. Since then, he has branched out to work on anime titles including TV Tokyo’s Pikotaro No Lullaby Lullaby and TVQ Kyushu’s Duppys Weather Forecast, as well as online adverts for Fuji TV’s drama Ōoku and Kao’s Essential hair care series.
